MISSION

The Technology and Innovation Support Center (hereinafter – TISC) established at the Ukrainian State University of Science and Technologies is part of the national TISC network. Its goal is to provide users with access to services tailored to their needs in technology-related information and to enhance their capacity for the effective use of such information.

KEY OBJECTIVES OF TISC

  • Supporting and promoting the activities of the TISC network in Ukraine in the areas of analytical research, technology implementation and commercialization, acquisition, use, and protection of intellectual property rights.
  • Stimulating innovation development.
  • Organizing thematic conferences, events, and conducting trainings, courses, and seminars on intellectual property and innovation.
  • Disseminating knowledge about the creation, legal protection, and commercialization of intellectual property objects (hereinafter – IPOs).
  • Conducting scientific-expert and consulting activities, including analysis of IPOs.
  • Providing users with access to patent databases and other sources of patent and non-patent information for patent search purposes.
  • Promoting the development of intellectual property and innovation activities.
  • Supporting the commercialization and transfer of IPOs.
  • Facilitating interaction among all participants in the innovation process.

FUNCTIONS: TISC SERVICES

The list of services provided by TISC is developed in accordance with the general requirements of the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO).

Types of services provided to TISC users:
Basic services – mandatory, in accordance with WIPO requirements (provided free of charge):

  • Access to patent and non-patent information resources.
  • Consultation on how to use the aforementioned resources.
  • Assistance in organizing distance learning for TISC members through WIPO Academy programs.

Additional services – optional, provided at the discretion of the university (free of charge):

  • General information on legislation in the field of intellectual property and innovation, including regulatory documents related to filing and maintaining IPO protection documents.
  • Consultations on searching and retrieving technical information.
  • Training in conducting searches in specialized databases and other intellectual property information resources.
  • Basic guidance on drafting license agreements.
  • Participation in the organization and conduct of scientific-practical conferences, seminars, trainings, and other events on legal protection and use of intellectual and creative activity results, and on patent research.
  • Consultations on general matters of filing applications (including electronic applications) for IPO protection documents.
  • Providing users with access to TISC hardware and software tools.
  • Other services.

Paid services may be provided by TISC upon decision of the university and under separate agreements.
