USUST Students Win Awards at the Ukrainian Freestyle Wrestling Championship

From April 8 to 11, 2025, the Ukrainian Freestyle Wrestling Championship for athletes under the age of 20 took place in the city of Khmelnytskyi. This prestigious tournament brought together over 300 young athletes born between 2005 and 2008 from all over the country. The event served as a qualifier for the European Championship, which will be held in Italy this summer — from June 30 to July 6, 2025.

Athletes from the Scientific and Educational Institute “Prydniprovska State Academy of Physical Culture and Sports” of USUST represented our university with dignity:

• Ivan Myroshnychenko (1st year, group FKS/017-24-2B) became the Ukrainian champion in the 125 kg weight category
• Dmytro Zakharchuk (2nd year, group FKS/017-23-2B) earned a bronze medal in the 65 kg category
• Enola Mozolevska (1st year, group FKS/017-24-2B) came close to the podium, taking 5th place in the same weight category

The championship in Khmelnytskyi gathered the country’s top wrestlers. Over the course of three intense days of competition, 20 male and 20 female finalists were determined — they will have the opportunity to represent Ukraine at the European level.
