Donor Day at USUST

At the Mechnikov Hospital in Dnipro, doctors save the lives of Ukrainian soldiers wounded in combat every day. According to Chief Physician Serhii Ryzhenko, between 50 and 100 surgeries are performed here daily. Over the three years of the full-scale invasion by Russian occupiers, the hospital’s doctors have transfused 21 tons of blood to save the wounded.

Contributing to these precious drops of blood were students, postgraduate students, faculty members, and personnel from all the Scientific and Educational Institutes of Ukrainian State University of Science and Technologies, who responded to the doctors’ call and donated blood on April 10, 2025.

Donor Day has already become a tradition for the university community, and during the full-scale war, it is a meaningful opportunity to support Ukraine’s defenders and prove that true strength lies in unity!
