Energy-innovative hub
According to the project program “Reforms in Energy Efficiency in Ukraine,” implemented by the German Society for International Cooperation (GIZ GmbH) on behalf of the Government of Germany, the Energy-Innovation Hub was established at the SEI PSACEA in 2019, serving as a platform for educational and outreach activities in the field of energy efficiency.
Under the auspices of the Energy-Innovation Hub, webinars and seminars covering a wide range of topics in energy efficiency are regularly organized. These events are designed not only to provide relevant knowledge and practical skills but also to encourage the exchange of experiences among professionals, researchers, and all stakeholders eager to contribute to a sustainable energy future.
According to the academy’s development strategy, the Hub’s activities are based on education, practice, science, and standardization. The ultimate goal is the transformation into a Green University. We have the opportunity to provide educational services according to modern European standards. In the past semester, training was conducted on the subject “Quality Control in the Construction of Energy-Efficient Buildings” for master’s degree researchers. Starting this year, after making adjustments to the educational program, this subject is being taught to both master’s degree researchers and professional master’s degree students.

Educational program: “Energy Audit and Energy Efficiency in Construction.” Practical training is conducted at the Energy-Innovation Hub’s equipped laboratory for energy auditing and energy certification. You will have the opportunity to familiarize yourself with and work with modern equipment and materials provided within the framework of the project. More detailed information about the equipment and project partners can be found in the 3D tour of the Energy-Innovation Hub at the link. Even in the context of distance learning, we managed to provide practical classes for groups of up to 10 people while implementing all anti-epidemic measures
Considering the current situation in the country, we have introduced an important cycle of open lectures (master classes) titled “Energy Efficiency for Everyone,” which takes place weekly. By subscribing to our YouTube channel, мyou can receive even more interesting content.
In addition to training master’s degree students, the certification commission for training energy auditors is actively working. More detailed information regarding the courses can be found at the link.

There is ongoing active collaboration with the Energy Efficiency Fund through the course “Training Energy Auditors for Working with the Energy Efficiency Fund.” Using the latest materials obtained within the project, 25 certificates have been issued for the course “Training Energy Auditors for Working with the Energy Efficiency Fund.”
Despite the challenging times, the Energy-Innovation Hub in Dnipro strives to assist the state through the practical activities of the Hub:
- Technical inspection and energy audit of buildings;
- Thermographic inspection;
- Development of projects for active buildings, projects to improve the energy efficiency of buildings;
- Energy certification of buildings;
- Instrumental energy audit – conducting a BLOW DOOR test (building airtightness test).
The Hub is actively collaborating with business partners. To date, more than 25 memoranda of cooperation have been officially signed.
The Energy-Innovation Dnipro Hub collaborates with the government, working for the benefit of society by enhancing energy efficiency literacy and training specialists and experts in this field. This is currently one of the most relevant issues for the development and reconstruction of Ukraine.
Webinars, scientific conferences, and training sessions, among others, are held at the Energy-Innovation Dnipro Hub. For 2024:
Within the framework of cooperation between the “Ukrainian State University of Science and Technologies” and the Energy Innovation Hub of Dnipro, in the implementation of the international project UKRENERGY, and within the component “Professional Qualification” of the project “Reforms in the Field of Energy Efficiency in Ukraine,” executed by the German Society for International Cooperation (GIZ) on behalf of the German government, a training on “Energy Efficiency, Energy Auditing of Buildings, and Inspection of Technical Installations” for employees of “Ukrzaliznytsia” was conducted on December 20-22, 2023, aiming to enhance their qualifications and knowledge in energy efficiency and energy auditing.
The scientific-practical conference “Promoting Energy Efficiency and Training Specialists for the Reconstruction of Ukraine” (March 13, 2024). Purpose: To promote the results of scientific research and practical experience in the field of energy efficiency and innovative technologies for the recovery of Ukraine. Involving professional (professional and technical) education institutions and higher education institutions, as well as business and government representatives in educational and scientific-practical activities aimed at preparing specialists for Ukraine’s recovery. The event is held under the auspices of the European Year of Skills. The event is implemented within the framework of the project “Promoting Energy Efficiency and Implementing the EU Energy Efficiency Directive in Ukraine” (FEER), implemented in Ukraine by Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH on behalf of the German government. The event is carried out within the project 101082898 – UKRENERGY, co-financed by the European Union: “Innovative Master Courses Supporting the Improvement of the Energy and Carbon Footprint of the Ukrainian Building Stock”
Regional Webinar “Methods of Restoring Destroyed City and Regional Infrastructure” (March 14, 2024)
