Comprehensive Scientific Department of Construction Problems in Complex Engineering and Geological Conditions deals with the development of project solutions for the reconstruction of buildings and structures of various purposes, the development of construction methods and protection of buildings in conditions of dense urban development, projects for strengthening foundations, development of methods for injection reinforcement of soil foundations, geomonitoring, and specialized hydrogeological monitoring. The development of methods for protecting buildings and structures from dynamic impacts and vibrations in complex geological conditions. Results – new technical solutions for reducing vibration and dynamic oscillations of buildings and their individual elements have been developed at 5 industrial sites.

Institute of Expertise, Design, and Research was created to perform search, geodetic, design, and construction work, construction and technical expertise of objects, evaluation activities, analysis of financial and economic activities, preparation of business plans for enterprises, and determination of losses. The Institute works as a subject of evaluation activities in accordance with the certificate issued by the State Property Fund of Ukraine.

The Laboratory for Research of Atomic and Thermal Power Plants has a primary focus on the reliability and safety of atomic and thermal power plants. The practical value and effectiveness of the laboratory’s work are as follows:

• Implementation of seismic monitoring results of NPP sites allows for the assessment of the actual seismicity of the area where power units are located, ensuring the assessment of the safety of power equipment from potential seismic impacts, optimizing financial costs for extending the operation period.
• The results of methods for assessing the degree of degradation of structures, depending on the responsibility of the construction, its parameters, and condition, as well as models for seismic calculations of buildings and structures at NPPs, enabled the State Nuclear Regulation Inspectorate of Ukraine to make decisions on extending the operation period of NPP power units beyond the design period, ensuring the country’s energy independence.

The value of the results obtained by PSACEA for the economy of the country lies in significant financial savings in ensuring the reliable and trouble-free operation of NPP power units.

The Testing Laboratory conducts:

• Examination of the state of construction materials in structures;
• Testing of construction materials for compliance with current standards by destructive and non-destructive methods with the issuance of test protocols;
• Consultations on the use of modern construction materials;
• Educational and advisory services in the field of production and use of materials (for employees of housing and communal services and territorial communities).

Laboratory tests of construction solutions and concretes are performed based on the Certificate № PCH 06-2/1118-2023 dated 23.03.2023, valid until 23.03.2023, issued by SE “Dnipropetrovsk Regional Scientific and Technical Center for Standardization, Metrology and Certification (SE ‘DNIPROSTANDARDMETROLOGY’).”
