Visit of the USUST Delegation to Lodz University of Technology
On 16 January 2026, in the framework of a working visit to the Republic of Poland, a delegation of the Ukrainian State University of Science and Technologies (USUST) participated in the important activities aimed at strengthening international cooperation in the fields of education and science with Lodz University of Technology (Politechnika Łódzka, Łódź).
On the same day, a Memorandum of Cooperation was signed between the Ukrainian State University of Science and Technologies (USUST) and Lodz University of Technology.
On behalf of USUST, the agreement was signed by the Rector, Corresponding Member of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor Kostyantyn Mykhailovych Sukhyi. On behalf of the Polish university, the Memorandum was signed by the Rector, prof. dr. hab. Inz. Krzysztof Jóźwik.

The Memorandum aims to develop partnership relations in the fields of education and science, to implement joint educational and research projects, to promote academic mobility of academic staff and students, as well as to organize conferences, seminars, and other scientific events.
The signing of the agreement opens up new opportunities for experience exchange, implementation of innovative initiatives, and strengthening of inter-university cooperation.
The representatives of the two universities held a working meeting focusing on the discussion of prospects for international cooperation and the implementation of joint projects and scientific research.
From the Ukrainian State University of Science and Technologies, the meeting was attended by the Rector of USUST, Professor Kostyantyn Mykhailovych Sukhyi; Professor, Doctor of Technical Sciences, Acting Head of the Department of Metallurgical Fuels and Refractories Yevhen Ivanovych Malyi; as well as the Director of the SEI ‘Aerospace Institute’, Candidate of Technical Sciences, Associate Professor Iryna Valeriivna Sukha.
From Lodz University of Technology, the meeting was attended by the Dean of the faculty, prof. dr. hab. Inz. Paweł Wawrzyniak and the Vice-Dean for Development, prof. dr. hab. Inz.Tomasz P. Olejnik.
During the discussions, the parties addressed key areas for the development of partnership relations, opportunities for the joint implementation of educational and research projects, and academic mobility of academic staff and students. As part of the visit, the delegation also visited teaching facilities and laboratories of the university, familiarized themselves with its modern infrastructure, and learned about the conditions for organizing the educational process.

Cooperation with leading European universities is an important step in strengthening the international position of the Ukrainian State University of Science and Technologies and creating new opportunities for the development of education and science in Ukraine.
