Valeriia Kozachyna successfully defended her PhD dissertation

On March 20, 2026, the Ukrainian State University of Science and Technologies hosted the defense of a PhD dissertation in specialty 192 ‘Construction and Civil Engineering’.

 

PhD candidate Valeriia Viacheslavivna Kozachyna presented her research ‘Improvement of methods for calculating flood protection systems for territories’. The dissertation was reviewed by an ad hoc specialized academic council, consisting of leading scholars from the university and specialised  higher education institutions across Ukraine.

 

The council was chaired by Oleksii Leonidovych Tiutkin, Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor, and head of the Department of Transport Infrastructure at the Ukrainian State University of Science and Technologies.

 

The reviewers were Ruslan Volodymyrovych Markul, Candidate of Technical Sciences, Associate Professor,head of the Research Unit at the university, and Vitalii Anatoliiovych Miroshnyk, Candidate of Technical Sciences, Associate Professor of the Department of Transport Infrastructure.

 

The official opponents were Olena Semenivna Voloshkina, Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor of the Department of Environmental Protection Technologies and Occupational Safety at Kyiv National University of Construction and Architecture, and Liudmyla Mykolaivna Arkhypova, Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor of the Department of Ecology at Ivano-Frankivsk National Technical University of Oil and Gas.

 

The defense took place at the SEI  ‘Dnipro Institute of Infrastructure and Transport’, USUST.
