USUST triumphs at ‘Student Spring – 2026’
On May 19, 2026, the citywide amateur arts competition ‘Student Spring – 2026’ took place at the Palace of Culture ‘Shynnyk’. It is a vibrant event that united more than 250 participants from 9 higher education institutions in Dnipro. This year’s largest youth festival in the city, held under the theme ‘Rhythms of Dnipro’, became a true celebration of emotion, talent, and team spirit.
The performance presented by the students of the Ukrainian State University of Science and Technologies was created by the professional team of the university’s Center for Culture, Arts, Media and Public Relations. More than just a stage performance, it represented a complete artistic vision in which every movement, musical note, and appearance on stage carried meaning and purpose.
As a result of the festival, USUST received the highest distinction – the Grand Prix – surpassing eight strong university teams from across the city.
The prize-winning places were distributed as follows:
- 1st place – Dnipro State University of Internal Affairs;
- 2nd place – Oles Honchar Dnipro National University;
- 3rd place – Dnipro University of Technology.
The performances were evaluated by a distinguished jury composed of renowned representatives of culture, arts, public sector, and military.
It is particularly noteworthy that Lieutenant Colonel Oleksandr Zharii, military band conductor of the Dnipropetrovsk garrison, emphasized that the USUST performance was his personal favorite.
The university is also proud that one of the jury members was USUST alumna, singer, and volunteer Kseniia Bashybular. She warmly supported her alma mater and noted that the jury’s decision had been unanimous and required no further discussion. Kseniia also recalled her student years as some of the most memorable in her life, emphasizing that the Center for Culture provided her with the professional foundation she continues to use in her creative career today.
In turn, Serhii Mazanyi, director of the Dnipro Academic Drama and Comedy Theatre, highly praised the work of the university’s professional creative team, expressing gratitude for their contribution to the preparation of the performance and praised the directing and the well-structured concept of the university’s performance.
This victory iis based on tremendous daily effort: rehearsals, emotional intensity, exhaustion, and at the same time an unwavering belief in a shared result. Equally important was the powerful support of everyone who stood beside the team and experienced every moment together with them.
The university expresses its sincere gratitude to all talented students who became the heart and soul of this performance. Special thanks are extended to the Center for Culture, Arts, Media and Public Relations of USUST, namely Director Stanislav Radzimovskyi, Director and Stage Producer Oksana Radzimovska, and Zlata Bohomaz, head of the contemporary dance studio ‘Just Dance’.
‘Student Spring -2026’ once again demonstrated that unity is our strength. Beyond the competition and victories, the festival became a symbol of solidarity, inspiration, and collective support for the Armed Forces of Ukraine, as traditionally part of the prize fund was donated to support the Ukrainian military.
