A true fighting spirit, team unity, and a strong desire to win characterized Ukrainian State University of Science and Technologies team in the second stage of the ‘Side by Side’ project of the All-Ukrainian Student Leagues.

These competitions are part of a large-scale national initiative that unites students from across Ukraine. In the 2025–2026 season, thousands of students from more than 150 universities are taking part in the leagues. The project is implemented with state support to develop student sports and promote a healthy lifestyle. The competitions are held in several stages,  from the intra-university level to the national level, and include sports such as basketball, volleyball, futsal, and cheerleading.

The basketball tournament in Dnipro brought together strong and ambitious teams from the city’s leading higher education institutions. The Ukrainian State University of Science and Technologies demonstrated a high level of preparation, tactical awareness, and true sporting character, confidently advancing through all stages of the competition.

All matches had intense competition, where every moment was decisive.  The final game against the University of Customs and Finance, held on April 22, 2026, was particularly spectacular. In a tense showdown, the USUST players showed high focus, resilience, and well-coordinated teamwork, which ultimately secured them a convincing victory.

As a result, the team earned a well-deserved first place!
A significant contribution to the team’s preparation was made by Alla Mykolaivna KYRYCHENKO, Senior lecturer at the Department of Physical Culture, Sports and Health of the SEI ‘USUCT’. Under her guidance, the athletes were able to fully realize their potential and achieve such excellent results.

The university was represented by the following students: Yevhen Nekrasov, Illia Moroko, Ivan Honcharuk, Danylo Ivanchenko, Maksym Papirnyk, Hlib Dudka, Volodymyr Riabukha, Vitalii Martysevych, Tymofii Hapon, and Danylo Tsuprov.
This victory was the result of persistent training, teamwork, and the high level of organization of student sports at the university. USUST has once again demonstarted that its students can achieve success not only in science, but also in sports.

USUST is not only education, but also victories that shape character.
