USUST team participated in the ENERGENIUS General Assembly meeting in Greece

From September 16 to 18, the third General Assembly of the international Horizon Europe project ‘ENERGENIUS’ (ID 101160720) took place in Nea Moudania, Chalkidiki, Greece.
 
The Ukrainian State University of Science and Technologies, a member of the project consortium, was represented by Prof. Mykola Savytskyi, Vice-Rector for Research and Academic Affairs, International Activities and Innovation Development, Assoc. Prof. Maryna Bordun, Department of Reinforced Concrete and Masonry Structures, and Anton Smyrnov, research fellow at the Thermal and Nuclear Power Plant Research Laboratory.
 
The ENERGENIUS project, launched in September 2024, aims to engage energy consumers in the energy transition through gamified learning and artificial intelligence, employing cross-sectoral integrated solutions and digital twin technologies.
 
USUST is responsible for developing the roadmap for scalability and replicability of the project results in Ukraine and EU countries.
 
One of the key steps in this direction will be the deployment of a pilot site in Dormitory No. 7 of the SEI ‘PSACEA’ , where residents will participate in testing new applications, gadgets, and tools developed within the ENERGENIUS project.
 
Another important task of the university is collaboration with European energy initiatives, particularly with the BRIDGE network.
 
The Assembly brought together the representatives of all 17 partners from 10 European countries. For the USUST team, this was the first in-person participation in ENERGENIUS project events.
 
On the first day, participants presented the results of their work over the past six months. Anton Smyrnov, head of the USUST working group, delivered a report on ENERGENIUS’s collaboration with the BRIDGE, and, together with partners from Switzerland and Serbia, presented the pilot site of our university.
 
The second day was dedicated to the demonstration of the project’s technological solutions. The partners presented a range of innovative tools, including PANORAMA information dashboard, AI-based decision support system GURU, digital twin creation app SCAN2DT, educational and training game ENPLAY,  ENMARKT marketplace, and ECOPULSE smart watch.
 
All the participants had an opportunity to test the developments firsthand and share their feedback and impressions.

On the third day, INNOVATIO (Greece) organized a workshop presentation of the project for local government and business representatives of the municipality of Nea Propondyda (periphery of Central Macedonia) at the Fisheries Museum of Nea Moudania.

In the informal part of the event, the USUST team held a number of important negotiations: in particular, agreements were reached on the university’s further participation in new Horizon Europe initiatives. An online meeting with Digital Twin Technologies (Germany) is also planned to discuss joint projects on the creation of digital twins, 3D scanning and BIM modeling.

The USUST team presented its own developments at the ENERGENIUS assembly, strengthened international ties, and outlined new prospects for cooperation. The university is confidently integrating into the European scientific and educational space and shaping the future of energy.
