USUST team at the ENERGENIUS General Assembly in Serbia

On March 12–13, 2026, Serbia hosted the fourth General Assembly of the participants of the international ENERGENIUS project (Horizon Europe, Grant Agreement No. 101160720), which brings together partners from various European countries to develop innovative approaches to energy consumption management. Implemented under the EU’s Horizon Europe programme, ENERGENIUS project is focused on engaging users in the energy transition through digital technologies, artificial intelligence, gamification, and the concept of digital twins.
 
The Ukrainian State University of Science and Technologies (USUST) was represented at the event by Mykola Savytskyi, Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs, International Relations, and Innovative Development; Anton Smyrnov, Research Fellow at the Laboratory for Research on Nuclear and Thermal Power Plants, Associate Professor of the Department of Architecture; as well as the representatives of the Department of Reinforced Concrete and Masonry Structures of the  SEI ‘PSACEA’ Svitlana Shekhorkina, Maryna Bordun, and Maryna Babenko.

The first day of the General Assembly took place in Pančevo at the premises of ZentrixLab and focused on the presentation of project tools that are already ready for testing. Participants were introduced to the PANORAMA dashboard, the S2DT digital twin solution, the ENPLAY educational game, the GURU AI assistant, as well as the EcoPulse smart device. Part of this equipment has already been delivered to USUST for deployment at the university’s pilot site.

The second day was held in Belgrade at the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Serbia, where the partners focused on assessing the readiness of the pilot sites. In particular, one of the dormitories of the SEI ‘PSACEA|’, USUST is participating in the project as a pilot facility and is currently at the stage of infrastructure deployment for the subsequent testing of project solutions.

As a result of the meeting, the participants agreed to strengthen coordination, as the project is moving into its practical implementation phase. In the coming months, a series of workshops is planned for the USUST team, dedicated to working with the ENERGENIUS tools. At the same time, the university acts as the coordinator of a separate project strand related to the development of a strategy for scaling up and replicating the project’s results.
 
The participation of the USUST team in the General Assembly demonstartes the university’s active integration into the European research and innovation area and its strong involvement in the development of modern solutions in the field of energy.
