USUST Takes Part in Kharkiv IT Cluster Strategic Session

On February 5, 2026, a strategic session dedicated to exploring market challenges and opportunities with regional stakeholders was held in Dnipro. Kharkiv IT Clustera partner of USUST invited the university representatives: Associate Professor of the Department of Information Systems of the SEI ‘USUCT’, Oksana Liashenko, and Head of the Career Development, Employment and Stakeholder Cooperation Office of USUST, Oleksii Sihunov. The session was facilitated by Olha Shapoval, director of Kharkiv IT Cluster.

During the session, special attention was paid to the analysis of the regional labour market and business needs. The participants focused on identifying skills and workforce shortages, current challenges faced by enterprises, as well as developing inclusive solutions aimed at engaging vulnerable groups in economic activity and supporting the sustainable development of the regions.

The session brought together representatives of business, higher education institutions, IT community, experts, and partners around the region’s strategic challenges, creating an effective platform for exchanging experience and developing practical solutions. The event was hosted at the Diia.Business | Dnipro. The participants worked with real market demand, barriers, and opportunities in the fields of information and communication technologies, construction, food processing, and financial services, while also generating ideas for pilot projects and new partnerships.

The open dialogue format made it possible not only to outline key challenges but also to move toward practical solutions aimed at reducing the gap between business workforce needs and the potential of individuals who can become in-demand professionals.

As a result of the strategic session, a foundation was established for the further development of partnerships and new formats of cooperation between the Ukrainian State University of Science and Technologies and representatives of the business community.
