USUST Students Excel at the Ukrainian Powerlifting Championship

From April 13 to 15, 2025, the Ukrainian Classic Powerlifting Championship among higher education students took place in Kolomyia, Ivano-Frankivsk region. The competition, held at the “Lokomotyv” Sports Complex and traditionally organized by the Horobets family, brought together over 300 athletes from across the country competing in various weight categories.

Among the participants were students from the Ukrainian State University of Science and Technologies. Representing the Scientific and Educational Institute “Prydniprovska State Academy of Physical Culture and Sports,” they showcased exceptional preparation and determination:

• Yurii Skurikhin (3rd year, group FV/014-22-2B) won 1st place in the over 120 kg category with a total of 685 kg in the three-lift event.
• Mykyta Davydenko (3rd year, group FV/014-22-2B) claimed 2nd place in the up to 105 kg category with 485 kg.

We congratulate our athletes on their outstanding performance and express our gratitude to their coaches — Iryna Voloshyna and Yevhen Koriaka, both graduates of the Academy, who continue to foster the athletic potential of new generations.
