USUST students become laureates of NAS of Ukraine Awards

The Ukrainian State University of Science and Technologies congratulates its students who have become laureates of the prestigious awards of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine (NAS of Ukraine) for young scientists and students of higher education institutions for the best research papers. Every year, the Presidium of the NAS of Ukraine awards 14 prizes to early-career researchers and 14 prizes to students of educational institutions for outstanding research in the natural, technical, social sciences, and humanities.
 
Awarding the NAS of Ukraine laureate diploma to Vitalii Slipchenko, master’s student of the SEI ‘USUCT’.
 
 According to the decision of the Presidium of the NAS of Ukraine of February 25, 2026, the award was granted to Vitalii Serhiiovych Slipchenko, a master’s student majoring in 162 ‘Biotechnology and Bioengineering’, for his research paper titled ‘Effect of leonardite on the growth and development of pleurotus ostreatus fungi during solid-state cultivation’.
 
The laureate diploma was officially presented by Olha Sverdlikovska, director of the SEI ‘Ukrainian State University of Chemical Technology’, and Nataliia Mitina, head of the Department of Biotechnology and Life Safety.
 
The research was conducted under the supervision of Kateryna Vlasenko, Associate Professor at the Department of Biotechnology and Life Safety.
Olha Sverdlikovska noted that the NAS of Ukraine Award is a testament to the high level of student training and their strong research potential. Nataliia Mitina emphasized the importance of focused research work and wished the laureate continued success.
 
PSACEA students receive NAS of Ukraine Awards
 
On April 22, 2026, a ceremonial presentation of diplomas was held for the winners of the awards competition for early-caareer researchers and students of higher education institutions, granted by the NAS of Ukraine for the best research papers. These annual awards recognize outstanding research across various fields, ranging from natural sciences to social sciences and humanities.
 
The competition laureate was Maksym Losiev, a second-year student of group PTSB-24mn at the Department of Construction Technology. He received the NAS of Ukraine Award laureate diploma in the field of ‘Mechanics and Mechanical Engineering’ for his research paper ‘Development of recommendations and an algorithm for the integrated assessment of constructability in the erection of steel grain storage facilities’.
The research was carried out under the supervision of Associate Professor Lina Kyslytsia and Professor Anatolii Bilokon.
 
Maksym Losiev was presented with the NAS of Ukraine Award laureate diploma at the general meeting of the section of Mechanics and Mechanical Engineering.
 
At the  Academic Council meeting at PSACEA, some university students were also recognized for their achievements in the NAS of Ukraine Awards competition:
  • Valerii Oleinykov received an honorary certificate in the field of ‘Mechanics and Mechanical Engineering’ for his research paper ‘Prospects for the development and application of structural concrete mixes based on brick aggregate from buildings and structures damaged by military actions’.
  • Olesia Tonkonoh won in the thematic category ‘Earth Sciences’ for her research paper ‘Ensuring fire safety control of forest areas using modern geodetic GIS technologies’,  supervised by Hanna Ishutina, Associate Professor at the Department of Highways, Geodesy and Land Management.
  • Oleksandr Omelych – a winner in the field of  ‘Informatics’.
These awards demonstrate the high level of training of USUST students in research, their creative initiative, and significant contribution to the development of modern science.
