USUST students among medalists at the Ukrainian U20 Wrestling Championship

From April 27 to 30, 2026, the Ukrainian U20 Freestyle Wrestling Championship for men and women took place in Lviv. The tournament became one of the key national sporting events of the season, which determines the composition of Ukraine’s youth national team for participation in the European Championship.

More than 300 athletes from across the country took part in the competition, which was held with the support of the Ministry of Youth and Sports of Ukraine, the Ukrainian Wrestling Association, and the Lviv Regional Military Administration. The championship stood out for its high organizational standards: matches were streamed online, while results were updated in real time through digital monitoring systems in line with modern international competition practices.
Over the course of two intense days, spectators witnessed highly competitive and dynamic bouts on the wrestling mats. High level of rivalry, highly competitive field and closely contested results confirmed the championship’s status as a decisive stage in the selection process for international competitions. At such events the future reserve of the national team is formed, and every victory carries strategic importance for the athletic careers of young wrestlers.

Students of the SEI ‘PSAPCS’ of the Ukrainian State University of Science and Technologies successfully represented the university and demonstrated an impressive level of technical, physical, and psychological preparation:
  • Ivan Myroshnychenko (2nd year, group FKS/017-24-2B) – champion of Ukraine in the 125 kg weight category;
  • Enola Mozolevska (2nd year, group FKS/017-24-2B) – bronze medalist in the 65 kg weight category;
  • Mykhailo Pryadko (1st year, group FKS/A7-25-2B) – bronze medalist in the 86 kg weight category;
  • Illia Ivanov (1st year, group FKS/A7-25-2B) – 5th place in the 125 kg weight category.

Particularly noteworthy was the achievement of Ivan Myroshnychenko, whose gold medal at the national championship proved his status as one of the country’s strongest wrestlers in his division and strengthened his position in the race for a place on Ukraine’s national team.

The accomplishments of the university’s athletes are the result of systematic training, daily dedication, and strong coaching support. In conditions of tough competition, they demonstrated not only athletic excellence, but also resilience, determination, and the ability to fight until the very end.

The university community congratulates the students and their coaches on these outstanding results and wishes them victories, further athletic growth, and successful representation of Ukraine on the international stage.
