USUST student wins bronze at the Ukrainian Rowing Cup

From July 3 to 6, 2025, the annual Ukrainian Rowing Cup took place in the waters of Matviyivska Bay on Trukhaniv Island in Kyiv. The competition was held in memory of Viktor Shvets, the  Hero of Ukraine and a member of the “Heavenly Hundred.”

 

Athletes from ten regions of Ukraine participated in the event. The Dnipropetrovsk region was represented by 24 rowers, including 19 students from the regional School of Higher Sports Mastery. In total, the  athletes earned 12 gold, 1 silver, and 6 bronze medals.

 

We are proud to share that among the medalists was Yan Kamanov, a first-year Master’s student (group MB02-24-M) of  SEI ‘DmetI’, USUST. Competing in the double sculls (2x) event, he and his partner finished with a time of 7:15.88, earning 100 points and securing third place and the bronze medal.
