On April 20, 2026, the student team of the Ukrainian State University of Science and Technologies claimed first place in the regional stage of the futsal competition ‘Side by Side: All-Ukrainian Student League’,  establishing itself among the strongest student teams in the region.

This large-scale sports project, initiated by President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy, is held under the slogan ‘Together we will win’  and brings together university students from across the country, promoting sport, active lifestyle, and team spirit.

The USUST team had an impressive and convincing tournament performance:

The team’s coach, Taras Romanovych Dutko, honored Master of Sports, Associate Professor of the Department of General Tactics and Basic Military Disciplines  and  the Department of Physical Education, noted that this victory was the result of systematic work and the combination of skill, technique, tactics, and experience. According to him, even under difficult circumstances, the team continues to demonstrate strong character and prove that students not only study, but also win.
The team’s most challenging match was the opening game, in which it initially trailed 0:1, but managed to equalize and ultimately win. The coach emphasized that the team’s greatest strengths are discipline, regular training, and unity. The players train two to three times a week, despite air raid alerts and other difficulties.

The championship-winning USUST team included students from several educational and scientific institutes, including ‘PSAPCS’ and ‘DMI’, while the core of the team was formed by students of ‘DIIT’.
