USUST student places fourth in triple jump in Europe

From July 17 to 20, 2025,  Bergen (Norway) hosted the European Athletics U23 Championships at the “Fana” Stadium — a prestigious international event held every two years under the auspices of the European Athletics Association for athletes under the age of 23.

 

The competition brought together the strongest young athletes from across the continent. The USUST student Aliona Chass (group ME-03-22) from SEI ‘DmetI’ was among them. She proudly represented Ukraine in the women’s triple jump event.

 

The final, held on July 18, proved to be an emotional and intense contest for Aliona. After two fouls at the start, she demonstrated exceptional composure and mental strength. On her third attempt, she set her  new personal best of 13.75 meters, immediately jumped into the top three.

 

Aliona held the bronze position until the very last round, when Serbian athlete Aleksandrija Mitrović overtook her with a jump of 13.84 meters. As a result, Aliona finished a commendable fourth among Europe’s elite triple jumpers.
