USUST scholars are recognized for cooperation with the Junior Academy of Sciences of Ukraine

The Ukrainian State University of Science and Technologies has received letters of appreciation from the municipal out-of-school educational institution ‘Junior Academy of Sciences of Student Youth’ of the Dnipropetrovsk Regional Council.
 
In these letters, the leadership of the Dnipropetrovsk regional branch of the Junior Academy Of Sciences of Ukraine expressed sincere gratitude to Professor Kostiantyn Sukhyi, Rector of USUST and Corresponding Member of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, as well as to the university’s academic staff, for their active contribution to the organization and conduct of the second (regional) stage of the All-Ukrainian Student Olympiads in academic subjects and the second (regional) stage of the All-Ukrainian competition of research projects submitted by student members of the Junior Academy of Sciences of Ukraine during the 2025–2026 academic year.
 
The second stage of the All-Ukrainian Student Olympiads took place from December 6, 2025  to January 26, 2026. For the first time, the Dnipropetrovsk regional branch of the Junior Academy of Sciences was designated as the institution responsible for organizing this intellectual competition and, with the support of USUST, successfully conducted 18 Olympiads at a high organizational level despite the severe challenges of wartime.
 
The second (regional) stage of the research project competition for student members of the Junior Academy of Sciences of Ukraine was held online from February 7 to March 1, 2026.
 
The letters of appreciation also recognized the contributions of USUST representatives who were involved in organizing committees and jury panels.

  • Olha Kuznietsova, Associate Professor of the Department of Biotechnology and Life Safety, SEI ‘USUCT’  (jury member in Biology);
  • Liudmyla Kulakevych, Professor of the Department of Philology and Translation, SEI ‘USUCT’  (head of the jury for the Ukrainian Literature and Crimean Tatar Humanities sections);
  • Tetiana Lukianenko, Professor of the Department of Physical Chemistry, SEI ‘USUCT’   (jury member in Chemistry; jury member of the General and Inorganic Chemistry section);

  • Tetiana Selivorstova, Associate Professor, acting head of the Department of Information Technologies and Systems, SEI ‘DMI’ (jury member in Information Technologies);
  • Kyrylo Stepanenko, Associate Professor of the Department of Economics and Law, SEI ‘USUCT’  (expert consultant and jury member of the Law section);
  • Kostiantyn Sukhyi, Professor, Corresponding Member of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, Rector of USUST (member of the organizing committee);
  • Yurii Proidak, Professor, Vice-Rector for Research at USUST (member of the organizing committee);

The letters particularly emphasized the high professionalism, subject expertise, and scholarly approach demonstrated by USUST faculty in their work with gifted youth. They also highlighted the importance of the university’s cooperation with the Junior Academy of Sciences of Ukraine in fostering the country’s future scientific and intellectual potential.

Such dedication helps build continuity between generations, guiding young people from their first research projects at school to meaningful involvement in university science.
