USUST representative participated in a ‘Horizon Europe’ NCP network event

On 6 March 2026, Kyiv hosted a thematic event for the National Contact Points (NCPs) of the EU Framework Programme – ‘Horizon Europe’, dedicated to the new call opportunities under the 2026–2027 work programmes. The event was organised by the ‘Horizon Europe’ Office in Ukraine and the National Research Foundation of Ukraine.

 

The meeting brought together representatives of the NCP network from different regions of the country who are responsible for informing researchers and innovators about opportunities to participate in European research programmes. The participants discussed recent updates to the work programmes, new thematic calls, and specific aspects of project proposal preparation.

 

The only National Contact Point in the Prydniprovskyi region operating at the Ukrainian State University of Science and Technologies in the field of Climate, Energy and Mobility was represented by its Head, Professor Vladyslav Danishevskyi, Director of the  SEI ‘Prydniprovska State Academy of Civil Engineering and Architecture’ of USUST.

The programme of the event consisted of both theoretical and practical sessions. During the first part, the participants were presented with statistical data on the participation of Ukrainian organisations in ‘Horizon Europe’ calls, as well as an overview of the key updates to the 2026–2027 work programmes and current opportunities for Ukrainian applicants.

 

The practical session focused on analysing an example of a project proposal prepared for a call related to research on the economic aspects of climate change. Participants worked on the project structure and budget development, and also discussed the use of artificial intelligence tools in proposal preparation.

 

The event concluded with an interactive training session during which the participants reinforced their knowledge of the key concepts of the Horizon Europe programme. Meetings of this kind help strengthen coordination within the network of National Contact Points and support more effective participation of Ukrainian researchers in European research and innovation projects.

 

Commenting on his participation in the event, Vladyslav Danishevskyi thanked the organisers for the opportunity to discuss new tools and approaches to project proposal preparation, and noted the practical value of analysing real cases and working in an interactive format.

 

Strengthening cooperation within the NCP network will contribute to more active participation of Ukrainian researchers in ‘Horizon Europe’ and to the further integration of Ukraine’s research and innovation community into the European Research Area.
