USUST Rector Joins the Ceremonial Unveiling of the Monumental Tryzub in Dnipro

On 24 December 2025, in the very heart of Dnipro – on the square near the Dnipropetrovsk Regional Military Administration and the Regional Council, close to the Rocket Park – the ceremonial opening of a monumental Tryzub took place. This powerful symbol of resilience, remembrance, and unity of the Ukrainian people was installed on the eve of Christmas and the New Year as a gift to the city from the defenders of Ukraine. The initiative came from the servicemen of the 7th Rapid Response Corps of the Air Assault Forces and the 25th Separate Airborne Sicheslav Brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

The location was deliberately chosen. Here in 2014 and 2022 volunteer battalions were formed and volunteer coordination centers operated, an experience that resonates deeply with many local residents and veterans. The monumental Tryzub has become a symbol of Ukrainian identity and courage, as well as a tribute to fallen brothers-in-arms who gave their lives in the struggle for independence and freedom.

The event united servicemen, veterans, wounded defenders, members of the clergy, representatives of local authorities, civil society, and the academic community. The representatives of the Ukrainian State University of Science and Technologies – Rector, Professor Kostiantyn Sukhyi and Vice-Rector Vice-Rector for Academic, Student and Humanitarian Affairs Halyna Yevsieieva were among the distinguished guests. On behalf of the university community, they addressed the audience with greetings and expressed their profound respect and gratitude to the defenders of Ukraine.

Addressing the participants of the ceremony, the Rector emphasized the symbolic meaning of the Tryzub as ‘not only the national coat of arms, but also an embodiment of resilience, continuous struggle, and unity of the Ukrainian people’. He highlighted that the Ukrainian State University of Science and Technologies will continue to stand alongside the defenders of Ukraine through volunteer initiatives, scientific research, educational programs, and rehabilitation projects for veterans.

The organizers noted that the creation and installation of the monument was carried out in close cooperation with partners over several weeks. The representatives of the Charitable Fund ‘7th Corps of the Air Assault Forces’ said that it was essential for them to install the Tryzub precisely at this location, which holds deep historical significance for both the local community and the defenders. The monument has become a symbol of faith in peace and love for Ukraine, as well as a reminder that independence and freedom are the highest values.

The Ukrainian State University of Science and Technologies sincerely congratulates the city of Dnipro and all participants of the event on the installation of this important symbol. May the Tryzub always serve as a reminder of strength of spirit, unity, and the unbreakable faith of the Ukrainian people.
