USUST Receives Commendation from the MES of Ukraine for Leadership in Scientific Research
On May 21, 2025, in Zaporizhzhia, as part of the celebrations for the Day of Science of Ukraine, the leadership of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine met with representatives of universities, research institutions, and local authorities from the frontline regions. Ukrainian State University of Science and Technologies was represented at the event by Vladyslav Danishevskyi, Director of the SEI “Prydniprovska State Academy of Civil Engineering and Architecture.”
During the meeting, Deputy Minister of Education and Science of Ukraine Denys Kurbatov presented the MES’s science priorities for 2025. Key focus areas include:
- Introduction of baseline funding for institutions that have passed the state scientific attestation;
- Establishment of an International Coalition to Support Ukrainian Science;
- Formation of Centers of Excellence focused on current defense-related tasks;
- Creation of an Applied Research Agency to foster collaboration between universities and industry;
- Launch of science parks and an innovation ecosystem;
- Implementation of a National Researcher System with scholarships for young scientists;
- Development of project-based postgraduate studies within the framework of grant-funded research.
During the ceremonial part of the event, Ukrainian State University of Science and Technologies received a Commendation from the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine “for leadership in conducting research and development commissioned by Ukrainian enterprises and organizations in 2019–2023.” The award was accepted on behalf of the university by Vladyslav Danishevskyi.
This recognition is a significant acknowledgment of USUST’s contribution to the advancement of applied science and its cooperation with the industrial sector.
