‘USUST PROJECT’ Team in the second season of the League of Laughter Dnipro
The second season of the League of Laughter in Dnipro has come to an end, and it became a special one for the Ukrainian State University of Science and Technologies: this year, the USUST PROJECT team has perfomed and brilliantly represented our university.
Throughout the season, the USUST PROJECT lineup changed several times. The first and second stages featured some different participants, yet the core of the team, a solid group of four students who became its heart, remained unchanged. A key moment came during the third stage, when first-year students, who were enrolled at the university only in September, joined the project and confidently stepped onto the stage. The final became a logical conclusion to the journey, as USUST PROJECT won an honorable third place, fully demonstrating the team’s potential.
At each stage of the competition, the team was supported by well-known coaches from the comedy genre:
- at the second stage – stand-up comedienne and participant of the TV League of Laughter as a member of Fam Fatale, Iryna Levkun;
- at the third stage – actor of the TV series Once Upon a Time Near Poltava and League of Laughter participant as a member of the Vinnytski and STZG teams, Dmytro Holubiev;
- in the final – Iryna returned to the team with her new surname Perunska, bringing the same faith in the students along with her professional support.
This collaboration helped the team find its own style and grow confidently from stage to stage.
One of the key goals of USUST PROJECT was not only to perform, but also to creatively present USUST. The team achieved this in a bright and original way:
- Stage 1 – a witty introduction that familiarized the audience with the university’s academic programs;
- Stage 2 – a themed comedy performance;
- Stage 3 – the most effective piece in terms of promotion: the students humorously showed just how large the university is and how it is spread across different parts of the city so much so that sometimes even lecturers find it challenging to find the right building.
The main message of the season was clear ‘We are one big USUST family’.
Four stages, new participants, training sessions, rehearsals, and plenty of laughter behind the scenes – USUST PROJECT proved that a team’s true strength lies in unity. Once again, our students demonstrated that USUST supports creativity, bold ideas, and the desire to be itself.
The time will show if we see the team in the next season but the most important thing has already happened.
We sincerely thank all members of USUST PROJECT for their hard work, talent, and for promoting the university.
Despite the war, shelling, and air raids, students continue to create and live a full student life. For its part, the university is doing everything possible to ensure that young people can still experience the joy of creativity, personal growth, and a sense of community.
Special thanks go to the USUST Center of Culture and Arts for its support, opportunities, and tireless work in fostering student creativity.
