USUST leads in laboratory equipment upgrades within the World Bank project

The Ukrainian State University of Science and Technologies is demonstrating the highest rate of laboratory infrastructure modernization under the World Bank investment project UIHERP – ‘Improving Higher Education in Ukraine for Results’, compared to the other nine higher education institutions participating in the laboratory modernization.

This was reported by the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine.

 

The university is systematically upgrading equipment in four academic fields – chemistry, transport, metallurgy, and construction. The total value of the equipment already purchased or expected for delivery exceeds UAH 57 million, and 62.5% of the planned equipment has already been delivered and put into operation.

 

In the field of chemistry, the university has received modern analytical instruments, a metal 3D printer, and high-precision laboratory equipment, opening new opportunities for materials research and specialist training. Within the transport cluster, a fully upgraded complex for testing metals and alloys is already in operation. The metallurgy laboratories have been equipped with new diagnostic systems, while the construction field is establishing a site for experiments in rehabilitation technologies and sustainable construction.

 

This large-scale upgrade is an important outcome of the integration of universities within the USUST. It demonstrates how shared infrastructure not only modernizes the educational environment but also provides students with access to the equipment of European level.

 

It should be recalled that on 3 December 2025,  the university was visited by Mykola Trofymenko, Deputy Minister of Education and Science of Ukraine , who examined the new laboratories and noted the significant progress achieved in modernizing USUST infrastructure.
