USUST hosts the ‘Atomic facility 2100: Design the energy of the future’ competition
On 22 May 2026, the All-Ukrainian Concept Design Competition “Nuclear Facility 2100: Design the Energy of the Future” was held at the Ukrainian State University of Science and Technologies on the premises of the SEI PSACEA. The event was dedicated to developing a modern vision of nuclear energy and shaping new approaches to the design of future energy infrastructure. Students from universities across Ukraine took part in the competition.
The competition was organized by the Research Institute “Innovative Energy” of the Scientific Center for Innovative Materials and Technologies of the Ukrainian State University of Science and Technologies and the Dnipro branch of the Ukrainian Nuclear Society.
The main goal of the initiative was to engage students in solving complex interdisciplinary challenges. Participants had the opportunity to combine knowledge of architecture, engineering, and energy technologies to create modern concepts for next-generation critical infrastructure facilities.
- Vitalii Zahilskyi, Candidate of Technical Sciences, Associate Professor; Acting Director of the research institute ‘Innovative Energy” of the IMT Scientific Center of USUST, head of the Dnipro branch of the Ukrainian Nuclear Society;
- Artem Rudin, Senior Research Fellow at the SEI ‘PSACEA’ USUST, head of the Dnipro office of the Ukrainian Nuclear Society;
- Vladyslav Kovba, Candidate of Technical Sciences, Associate Professor at the SEI ‘PSACEA’ USUST, deputy head of the Dnipro branch of the Ukrainian Nuclear Society;
- Artem Sopilniak, Candidate of Technical Sciences, Associate Professor, head of the Department of Architecture at the SEI ‘PSACEA’ USUST.
- Volodymyr Kholosha, President of the Ukrainian Nuclear Society;
- Danylo Lavrenov, First Vice President and Executive Secretary of the Ukrainian Nuclear Society, head of the Office of the Chairman of the Management Board of JSC NNEGC Energoatom;
- Khrystyna Lylak, Public Relations Director of the Ukrainian Nuclear Society.
- first place and a financial award went to the team of Lviv Polytechnic National University, consisting of students Vitalii Bihun, Nataliia Honchar, and Iryna Chomko;
- second place and a cash prize were awarded to Yuliia Kramar, a student of Kyiv National University of Construction and Architecture;
- third place and financial awards were won by Uliana Sabantseva and Mykyta Martimianov, students of the SEI ‘PSACEA’ USUST.
