USUST First-Year Student Wins Silver at the European Sambo Championship Among Juniors

From April 22 to 27, 2025, the European Sambo Championship among juniors took place in Limassol, Cyprus. The competition, held in the disciplines of sport and combat sambo, was hosted at the Apollon Limassol Basketball Stadium and gathered young athletes from across Europe.

Representing the Ukrainian national team, Kira Titovets, a first-year student of the SEI PDAFKiS (group FKS/017-24-2B) at USUST, won a silver medal in the under 72 kg weight category.

In the semifinal bout, Kira confidently defeated Anna Stoieva of Bulgaria with a score of 8:0 in the very first minute. In the final, she faced the experienced Daria Kazantseva (FIAS 1) and narrowly lost with a score of 0:1.

This outstanding achievement is the result of Kira’s dedication, the support of her coaches, and the team of the Department of Boxing, Wrestling, and Weightlifting at SEI PDAFKiS.
