USUST delegation took part in the international MInT-Ukraine seminar in Hannover

The representatives of the Ukrainian State University of Science and Technologies took part in the international training seminar of the MInT-Ukraine programme, held from 22 to 28 March 2026 in Hannover at Leibniz University.

 

The event brought together the teams from around fifteen Ukrainian universities selected for the programme’s first cohort. USUST  was represented by an inter-institutional team of academic staff working on the implementation of micro-credentials as a modern tool for the development of educational programmes and international cooperation. This time, USUST was represented in Germany by Professor Larysa Harmider, head of the Department of Economics and Law, and Olha Riabtseva, Associate Professor of the Department of Management and Finance.

The seminar programme combined training sessions, practical work, and active exchange of experience. The main focus was placed on the development and adaptation of university micro-credential concepts that each institution will implement according to its own needs. The participants worked on their projects, discussed approaches to the internationalization of education, and received feedback from international experts.

 

During the visit, the USUST delegation also got acquainted  with the organization of the educational process and the services provided by the host university. The participants visited several structural units of Leibniz University Hannover, including departments responsible for supporting international activities, staff development, and work with early-career researchers. Special attention was given to practices in managing educational innovation and digital learning platforms.

An important part of the seminar included poster presentations and discussions, which were a great opportunity to exchange ideas with colleagues from other universities and to refine approaches to the implementation of the participants’ own projects.

 

Participation in this in-person training enabled the university team not only to deepen its knowledge of micro-credentials, but also to gain a better understanding of European approaches to the internationalization of education, establish professional contacts, and strengthen cooperation with international partners.

 

The MInT-Ukraine programme is implemented with the support of DAAD and the Federal Ministry of Research, Technology and Space of Germany and is aimed at strengthening the capacity of Ukrainian universities to introduce flexible educational formats integrated into the European Higher Education Area.

 

The experience gained will serve as a foundation for the further implementation of micro-credentials at USUST and for the development of new opportunities for students and academic staff in the field of international education.
