USUST delegation attends UkrYAT Board Meeting
On 2 December 2025, a regular meeting of the Board of the Ukrainian Nuclear Society (UkrYAT) took place. It is an event that traditionally summarizes the activities of the professional community and outlines key development priorities for the nuclear energy sector for the coming year.
Representatives of the Ukrainian State University of Science and Technologies participated in the meeting Vitalii Zahilskyi and Vladyslav Kovba, Associate Professors of the Department of Engineering Geology and Geotechnics of the SEI ‘PSACEA’, who also serve as heads of the Dnipro branch of UkrYAT.
During the meeting, the Board members discussed the results of work accomplished in 2025, the activities of regional branches and the secretariat, budget implementation, and approved the action plan for 2026. Considerable attention was devoted to strengthening cooperation with Energoatom, advancing educational and research initiatives, and exploring new formats for engaging young professionals and expert communities.
The sections of the meeting was dedicated to:
• the activities of the scientific and analytical section and the outcomes of the international ‘NucNext-2025’ conference in Kyiv and the V.M. Voevodin conference in Kharkiv;
• the work of the women’s and youth sections, which carried out a number of educational, communication, and professional initiatives throughout the year;
•international cooperation with European and American nuclear societies;
• volunteer projects supporting the Ukrainian Armed Forces.

During the discussion on the development of the UkrYAT network, the Board confirmed the status of several new regional branches, including the one in Dnipro. For USUST, it is an important step in strengthening the university’s involvement in professional communities and its influence on the strategic decisions of the sector.
The representatives of our university took an active part in discussions on educational programs, partnerships with industry enterprises, and the development of regional chapters. In particular, they emphasized the role of practice-oriented learning, the use of modern technologies in engineering education, and the importance of engaging students in the activities of UkrYAT.
USUST will continue to strengthen its cooperation with the Ukrainian Nuclear Society, supporting scientific research, international initiatives, and educational projects aimed at advancing the development of nuclear energy in Ukraine.
