USUST completed professional development programme for teachers of Slobozhanske lyceum

From March 23 to April 10, 2026, the SEI Dnipro Institute of Infrastructure and Transport’ of the Ukrainian State University of Science and Technologies implemented a comprehensive professional development programme for teachers of Slobozhanske lyceum. The initiative was designed to strengthen digital competencies and support the integration of modern technologies into the educational process.

The first session of the programme took place on March 23, 2026, at Slobozhanske lyceum and was organized by the institute’s team. Participants explored approaches to adapting to change as well as tools for improving document workflows. Teachers highlighted the practical value of the session and the  skills acquired, particularly useful for working with text editors.

The next stage of the programme was held on March 31, 2026, and focused on Best practices for interacting with large language models’.The session was delivered by Associate Professor Roman Rybalka, deputy director of the SEI ‘DIIT’. As part of his original course, the participants learnt the fundamentals of prompt engineering, including how to structure requests using tags, and gained hands-on experience with artificial intelligence tools. In particular, teachers created their own digital assistants using Google Gemini and explored ways to generate high-quality visual content for educational purposes.

On April 1, 2026, teachers of Slobozhanske lyceum took part in the training session ‘Analytical literature review with the help of AI’, also led by Roman Rybalka. The participants explored how artificial intelligence can be used to personalize learning, automate lesson preparation, and create interactive educational content. The practical component of the training was of particular interest, as teachers were able to see how quickly modern tools can help address everyday professional tasks.

The final stage of the programme took place on April 2, 2026. The participants engaged in a live interactive format, modelling educational processes with the use of digital technologies. Together with Roman Rybalka, the teachers examined the principles of neural networks, discussed scenarios for their application in education, and paid special attention to data protection issues. Through practical case studies and role-based exercises, complex technological processes became more accessible and closely connected to real educational situations.

The closing meeting took place on April 10, 2026, at Slobozhanske lyceum with the participation of Professor Mykhailo Kapitsia, director of the SEI ‘DIIT’ and Associate Professor Roman Rybalka, deputy director of the SEI ‘DIIT’. The meeting summarized the outcomes of the programme and outlined further areas of cooperation.

Upon completion of the training, 43 teachers of the lyceum received certificates confirming their successful participation in the programme. The participants emphasized the relevance and practical focus of the training, as well as the importance of introducing new approaches into the educational process in line with contemporary educational standards.

Both sides noted that partnership initiatives of this kind foster the exchange of experience, enhance teaching excellence, and contribute to the development of a modern educational environment. Cooperation between the SEI ‘DIIT’ and Slobozhanske lyceum will continue in response to emerging educational challenges and needs.
