USUST community receives Certificate of Appreciation on Science Day from the Mayor of Dnipro

On 20 May 2026, during the 80th regular session of the Dnipro City Council of the VIII convocation, the Ukrainian State University of Science and Technologies was awarded a Certificate of Appreciation from the Mayor of Dnipro.

The award recognised the university’s active participation in civic initiatives, its contribution to building a community of resilient young people ready to respond to modern challenges and opportunities, as well as its significant role in developing scientific potential and implementing innovative solutions that ensure the stable functioning of the educational process.
Oleksandr Sanzhara, Secretary of Dnipro City Council, presented the Certificate of Appreciation on behalf of Dnipro Mayor Borys Filatov to Professor Kostiantyn Sukhyi, Rector of USUST and Corresponding Member of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine.

During the session, the City Council emphasised that even under wartime conditions, Dnipro’s university communities continue to advance education, science, and the training of highly qualified specialists. Academic staff, researchers, and students are shaping a new generation of professionals and ambassadors of Ukrainian science, while support for educational and research institutions remains one of the city’s development priorities.
Alongside USUST, the academic communities of other leading higher education institutions in Dnipro also received Certificates of Appreciation from the Mayor.

For USUST, this recognition is an acknowledgement of the daily work of the university community, which continues, even in challenging circumstances, to develop science, introduce modern educational practices, support student initiatives, and strengthen the intellectual potential of the region and Ukraine.
