USUST Celebrates International Students’ Day

On 17 November 2025, the Ukrainian State University of Science and Technologies  celebrated International Students’ Day and the Students’ Day of Ukraine. Throughout the day, the university hosted festive events that united students, academic staff, and guests in the atmosphere of  creativity, support, and the warm traditions of the university community.

 

 

At 12:00, a large festive concert took place in the safe shelter of the SEI ‘Prydniprovsk State Academy of Civil Engineering and Architecture’.

 

The students were greeted by Prof. Anatolii Radkevych, First Vice-Rector of USUST, and Prof. Halyna Yevsieieva, Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs, Student Development and Humanitarian Policy. They thanked the students for their perseverance, creativity, and resilience, and wished them new achievements and continued success.

After the formal part of the event, students who demonstrated outstanding achievements this year in studies, research, sports, and community engagement were honoured.

Their names have been added to the university’s unique project- the ‘Gallery of Success’, a virtual hall of fame that this year features 70 of the most active students.

The festive programme continued with diverse performances by students of the PSACEA, PSAPCS, USUCT, and the scientific lyceum of digital technologies and design. Songs, poetry, humorous sketches by Pavlo Hlazovyi, and a variety of dance performances,  from rumba and oriental dance to hip-hop,  created a truly celebratory atmosphere.

 

The most notable were the performances by Lada and Dana Krylovetski (faculty of Information Technologies and Mechanical Engineering), a trio from the faculty of Civil Engineering of the SEI ‘PSACEA’, lyrical pieces by Volodymyr Riabukha, an oriental dance by Liza Vasiukhno (SEI ‘PSAPCS’), an artistic gymnastics by Daniella Chebotariova, and a hip-hop performance by Karyna Kosevych and Karyna Kravtsova. Young talents from the lyceum also joined the programme with vocal numbers, a short theatrical interlude, and a guitar performance.

A minute of silence held in honour of USUST graduates who died defending Ukraine was a special moment of the event was  The hosts also reminded the audience of the historic role of Ukrainian students in key national events, from the Revolution on Granite to the Revolution of Dignity.

 

An important part of the celebration was dedicated to expressing gratitude to student initiative groups. In particular, the decade-long work of the student team at the USUCT History Museum, who organise guided tours, preserve historical materials, and contribute to developing the university’s cultural heritage.

 

The concert was prepared and organised by Larysa Kotova and Larysa Bohuslavska from the ‘Yednaimosia’ studio. The event was hosted by Zlata Kariaka, Volodymyr Riabukha, and Yelyzaveta Nishchenko.

At the SEI ‘Ukrainian State University of Chemical Technology’,  the celebration took place at 14:00 and also united many students.
The director of the institute, Olha Sverdlikovska, greeted the students and wished them inspiration and a healthy balance between study and creativity.

The programme featured stand-up comedy, dance and vocal performances, student sketches, and an awarding of  the most active and engaged students.

 

November 17  is a day when we honour both historical events and the important role of students today. USUST students are never on the sidelines: they study, create, volunteer, and defend Ukraine. This year’s celebrations once again demonstrated that the university’s youth is strong, active, and ready to shape its future responsibly .
