USUST at the Kick-off Meeting of the International Project VETpartEx in Krakow

On March 12-13, 2025, the Kick-off Meeting of the international project VETpartEx – “Future Oriented Vocational Training for the Construction Sector in Ukraine in a Partnership for Excellence” took place in Krakow, Poland. The project aims to improve vocational education in Ukraine in line with modern labor market requirements.

Ukrainian State University of Science and Technologies (USUST) was represented by:

  • Oleksandr Zhadanos, Cand. of Tech. Sc., Associate Professor at the Department of Electrometallurgy named after Acad. M.I. Hasyk, Institute of Materials Science and Technology.
  • Nataliia Chernova, Cand. of Econ. Sc., Associate Professor at the Department of Economics and Management, Head of the Department of International Relations.

Key objectives of the VETpartEx project:

  • Modernization of educational programs in the construction sector according to market needs.
  • Development of digital and “green” competencies for vocational education.
  • Establishment of a Center of Excellence in the construction field.
  • Development of Open Educational Resources (OER) and online courses (MOOC).

The event program included:

  • Welcome speeches from representatives of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine and the National Erasmus+ Office.
  • Presentation of the goals and structure of the VETpartEx project.
  • Discussion of models for competency assessment and development.
  • Review of the creation of a Professional Education and Innovation Center in construction.
  • Discussions on European construction standards, BIM technologies, and energy efficiency.

Expected results:

  • Development of new educational materials for universitihttps://ust.edu.ua/mizhnarodna-diyalnist/universytetski-proyekty-i-granty/programa-erasmus/vetpartex/es and vocational education institutions.
  • Implementation of qualification improvement programs for instructors.
  • Integration of modern approaches in the construction sector for the post-war reconstruction of Ukraine.

The VETpartEx project is an important step towards adapting Ukrainian education to European standards and contributes to Ukraine’s integration into the international labor market.
