Trade Union Conference and Staff Conference of the USUST

On April 24, 2025, two events focused on making important decisions for the Ukrainian State University of Science and Technology were held in the conference hall of SEI DMI. Representatives of all structural units of the university gathered for the Conference of the Joint Trade Union Organization of Education and Science Workers of Ukraine at USUST, as well as for the Conference of the University Staff.

During the first meeting, issues related to the organization and further functioning of the joint trade union were considered. The participants were addressed by the Rector of USUST, Corresponding Member of the NAS of Ukraine, Professor Kostiantyn Sukhyi, Vice-Rector for Research, Professor Yurii Proidak, as well as Professors Oleksandr Yeromin and Vadym Selivorstov. In their speeches, they emphasized the importance of staff unity, transparency of trade union processes, and social protection of employees.

 

Following the voting results, Andrii Selegei was elected as the Chair of the Trade Union Committee of the JTUOESWU USUST — a person with extensive experience, strong authority among colleagues, and a deep understanding of the needs of the staff. Liudmyla Stepanenko and Oleksandr Dziuban were elected as Deputy Chairs.

A new Regulation on the JTUOESWU USUST was also approved, and 20 delegates were elected to the Trade Union Committee. The delegated representatives will join the work of the regional organization of the Trade Union of Education and Science Workers of Ukraine.

We congratulate the newly elected Chair of the Trade Union Committee, Andrii Mykolaiovych Selegei, and wish him inspiration, strength, and effective work in the interests of the entire university staff!

 

Immediately after the conclusion of the trade union conference, the University Staff Conference of USUST was held in the same hall. The main agenda items included the approval of the university Charter, the adoption of the Regulations on the University Staff Conference, and the optimization of the USUST college network. Proposals submitted by representatives of the staff were discussed constructively and supported by the participants.
