Track and Field Athletes of USUST Start 2025 with Victories

The new year of 2025 has begun with a series of remarkable victories for the track and field athletes of the Ukrainian State University of Science and Technologies (SEI DMetI), showcasing the high level of preparation of our students.

On January 11–12, the prestigious “Mityng ogólnopolski” competition took place in Wrocław, Poland, gathering track and field athletes from various countries. Alona Chass, a student of group ME-03-22-2, represented both the university and Ukraine with distinction, winning the triple jump event with an impressive result of 13.17 meters.

Meanwhile, on January 10–11, the Regional Championship for Adults was held in Dnipro, serving as a qualifying stage for the National Team Championship of Ukraine. The competition proved successful for our university’s athletes:

  • Ivan Furdui (group ML-01-24-M) claimed victory in the triple jump,
  • Valerii Dziuba (group ME-07-24-M) secured gold in the 800-meter race,
  • Mark Nikolaienko (group UL-2111) earned second place in the 60-meter sprint.

A special mention goes to Kyrylo Fatieiev (group EP-01-23), who is currently participating in training camps in Kyiv, preparing for key competitions.

Despite their intense training and competition schedules, all track and field athletes successfully passed their winter examination session. An especially delightful piece of news was the recommendation of Alona Chass for the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine Scholarship.

On January 25–26, the National Team Championship of Ukraine will be held in Kyiv, where our athletes will once again compete for top honors. The university takes great pride in their achievements and wishes them continued success throughout the year!
