Together, we reach new horizons
On 17th October 2024, an Information Day dedicated to the EU research and innovation framework programme Horizon Europe was held in Dnipro at the Ukrainian State University of Science and Technologies (USUST). The event focused on current calls and partnerships in the Climate, Energy, and Mobility area. The event took place offline at the Scientific and Educational Institute of “Prydniprovska State Academy of Civil Engineering and Architecture” (SEI PSACEA of the USUST) and online via Microsoft Teams, thanks to the joint efforts of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine, the Horizon Europe Office in Ukraine, the National Research Foundation of Ukraine (NRFU), USUST, and the National Contact Point (NCP).
The programme covered important topics for Ukrainian researchers, including opportunities to participate in Horizon Europe calls, success stories of already implemented projects like HEOinUA, the national contact point network, and practical tips for preparing and submitting project proposals. Particular attention was given to partnership opportunities in international research initiatives, successful practices within the Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions, and examples of practical cases.
The event aimed not only to inform but also to support Ukrainian scientists in preparing projects for European competitions. After the main presentations, there was a Q&A session and networking, providing participants with the opportunity to discuss practical aspects and establish new professional contacts.
The Rector of the Ukrainian State University of Science and Technologies, Kostiantyn SUKHYI, emphasized the importance of this event, highlighting that the opening of the National Contact Point for Climate, Energy, and Mobility is a significant achievement for the region and the country as a whole. He noted, “This area opens up great opportunities for Ukrainian scientists in international research and contributes to the development of Ukraine’s scientific potential. We are confident that participation in the Horizon Europe programme will help our researchers make a significant contribution to global innovations.”
