The third webinar of the grant writing school by the USUST NCP

On June 26, 2025, the third webinar of the grant writing school took place at the SEI ‘Prydniprovska State Academy of Civil Engineering and Architecture’ of the Ukrainian State University of Science and Technologies  (USUST). The webinar was dedicated to the preparation and submission of project proposals for the European Union Framework Programme ‘Horizon Europe’.
 
The event was held in a hybrid format – both in-person in the city of Dnipro and online via Zoom.
 
Over 80 participants registered for the event, with more than 50 attending live. Among the attendees were representatives from higher education institutions, professional pre-higher education establishments, government bodies, local self-government, as well as business, public organizations, and municipal institutions.
 
This training established a shared direction for science, business, and government, fostering strengthened partnerships and the development of cross-sectoral cooperation in the context of European grant opportunities.
  • Welcome remarks from the organizers and partners;
  • Presentation of USUST success stories in international projects (including MSCA-ITN ETUT HORIZON 2020);
  • Overview of key components of a project proposal;
  • Analysis of opportunities for business participation;
  • Final interactive Q&A session addressing practical aspects of engaging businesses in Horizon Europe calls.
The speakers were:
  • Vladyslav Danishhevskyi, Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor, Director of  SEI ‘Prydniprovska State Academy of Civil Engineering and Architecture’,  Head of the National Contact Point;
  • Iryna Zhuravlova, Head of the Department of Regulatory Policy and Entrepreneurship Development, Legal Support Department, Dnipro City Council;
  • Tetyana Serdyuk, PhD in Technical Sciences, Associate Professor of the Department of Automation and Telecommunications;
  • Maryna Babenko, PhD in Technical Sciences, Associate Professor, Head of the Center for International Scientific Cooperation;
  • Maksym Kolisnyk, Leading Specialist of the ‘Horizon Europe Office in Ukraine’ Department, National Research Foundation of Ukraine.
The participants gained valuable insights into project proposal preparation, business participation opportunities, and appreciated practical cases and successful examples of cooperation within the EU Framework Programme ‘Horizon Europe’.
 
The grant writing school continues to expand horizons of knowledge and collaboration, demonstrating high demand among Ukraine’s academic and entrepreneurial communities.
