The second group of participants of Ukraine’s reconstruction program successfully completes studies at USUST

At the The Ukrainian State University of Science and Technologies, the second group of participants in the program “BUILDING THE FUTURE: Innovative Construction for a New Ukraine” is completing its studies. The program began on February 2, 2026 and has been delivered at the educational and research Center for the Development of Professional Education of USUST.

 

The four-week program comprises 120 hours of intensive training aimed at developing relevant practical competencies in the field of construction. The participants acquire foundational construction skills, gain a thorough understanding of safety principles, and explore digital construction tools, including SketchUp, 3D scanning technologies, and Trimble Connect / TBC. In addition, they learn approaches to sustainable reconstruction, preservation of architectural heritage, and up-to-date career opportunities in the industry.

 

The course integrates hands-on training with the application of digital technologies that are already transforming the construction sector. The participants demonstrate strong motivation and active engagement, having chosen a practice-oriented way to be ready for the real challenges of post-war recovery.

They are currently finalizing their projects, in which they present the digital construction skills and competencies gained throughout the program. The project defense is scheduled for 26 February 2026. The training process is conducted in full compliance with safety requirements: in case of air raid alerts, classes continue in  shelters.

 

The graduates of the program are expected to strengthen the professional capacity of the construction sector and contribute to Ukraine’s reconstruction according to contemporary standards and labor market demands.

 

The project is implemented by Swisscontact with financial support from the government of the United Kingdom through UK aid within the framework of the BLOOM Programme. The programme is delivered by a consortium comprising Mercy Corps, International Rescue Committee, Swisscontact, and a charitable fund ‘Right to Protection’. In Dnipro, the implementation is carried out by Construction Association HERZ LLC in partnership with EAUA.
