The Rector of USUST represented Ukraine at the Summit in Washington
On September 13–14, 2025, in Washington, at the MGM National Harbor Conference Center (District Columbia, USA), the Ukraine Reconstruction Summit 2025 was held. This important international gathering brought together leaders from business, civil society, and partner organizations to coordinate and accelerate Ukraine’s reconstruction and recovery.
Among hundreds of participants from different countries of the world Professor Kostiantyn Sukhyi, head of the Ukrainian State University of Science and Technologies, was the only rector from Ukraine. His participation was a remarkable event, as he represented the entire Ukrainian academic community on such a prestigious international platform, emphasizing the key role of universities in the country’s development after victory.
The Rector of USUST took part in panel discussions dedicated to the development of human capacity building, innovation, and science as drivers of Ukraine’s reconstruction. There were quite important informal meetings where they discussed opportunities for training specialists for new economy, involvement of universities in international research, joint educational programs, and enhancing the competitiveness of Ukrainian graduates.
The participation of Rector Kostiantyn Sukhy at the Summit once again confirmed the leadership position of our University and strengthened the role of Ukrainian education and science on global stage. It is an important sign to the international community that Ukraine’s universities are ready not only to contribute to the reconstruction process but also to be its driving force.
