The prize of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine is awarded to USUST researcher Olesia Shmychkova
Professor of the Department of Physical Chemistry at the Ukrainian State University of Science and Technologies, Olesia Shmychkova, has become a laureate of the prize of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine for Young Scientists 2025. This high distinction is awarded for outstanding scientific results and a significant contribution to the development of national science.
The ceremony took place on December 4, 2025 at the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine. The Chairman of the Parliament, Ruslan Stefanchuk, personally presented diplomas and badges to the winners, emphasizing that this prize is one of the most important state awards for young researchers. He stressed that Ukrainian science is sustained by people who, despite all challenges, continue working for the future of the country and expressed his gratitude to the laureates for their motivation, preserverance, and dedication to research.
Competition works by young scientists were from 16 fields representing 18 regions of Ukraine, from institutions of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, higher education institutions, and branch academies to organizations in the security and defense sector.
Following the ceremony, the laureates met with the representatives of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Committee on Education, Science and Innovation and the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine. The young researchers emphasized the importance of state support, particularly in terms of social guarantees, material and technical resources, and enhancing the prestige of the researcher.
This award is a significant recognition of Olesia Shmychkova’s scientific achievements and a meaningful contribution to the reputation of our university. USUST is proud of the success of the colleague and warmly congratulates her on this distinguished honor.
