The Faculty of Architecture of the SEI PSACEA Celebrates 55 Years
On May 7, 2025, the Faculty of Architecture of the SEI PSACEA at USUST celebrated its 55th anniversary. The festivities took place at the House of Architects, gathering graduates, faculty members, students, and honored guests.
Over 55 years, the Faculty of Architecture has graduated more than 5,000 specialists. Among them are 22 state award laureates, a People’s Architect of Ukraine, six honored architects, as well as doctors and candidates of sciences, renowned Ukrainian builders, artists, sculptors, and leaders of leading design organizations.
The celebratory program included a tour of the exhibition featuring works by students and faculty, performances by graduates and lecturers, presentations of departmental achievements, and stories about the faculty’s history and prospects.
On behalf of the university, the attendees were greeted by the Director of SEI PSACEA, Professor Vladyslav Danishevskyi. Mykhailo Alipov, Chair of the Dnipropetrovsk Regional Organization of the National Union of Architects of Ukraine and a graduate of the faculty himself, emphasized the importance of architectural education and its contribution to shaping the urban environment.
The Dean of the Faculty of Architecture, Oleksandr Kharlan, spoke about the current achievements of the departments and new educational programs aimed at training a new generation of architects.
Special attention was given to Oleh Borysovych Petrov — one of the faculty’s founders and the founder of the Prydniprovska School of Architecture. Today, one of the streets in Dnipro, where the academy’s buildings are located, bears his name.
The 55th anniversary celebration became a landmark event for the Faculty of Architecture, once again highlighting its role in training professionals who shape the architectural face of modern Ukraine.
