Successful PhD defence in Physical Culture and Sports held at USUST

On 5 June 2026, a public defence of the dissertation of a postgraduate researcher Liudmyla Dziuba took place in the Ukrainian State University of Science and Technologies. Following the review process and an open vote by the specialised academic council, she was awarded the degree of Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in specialty 017 Physical Culture and Sports in the field  01 Education/Pedagogy.
 
The defence took place at the SEI ‘Prydniprovska State Academy of Physical Culture and Sports’. The candidate presented the results of her research, which focused on improving approaches to correcting the psychophysical condition of women in the first period of adulthood through independent physical culture and health-enhancing activities. The dissertation was entitled ‘Correction of the psychophysical condition of women in the first period of adulthood within the system of independent physical culture and health-enhancing activities’. The research was supervised by Tetiana Sydorchuk, Candidate of Sciences in Physical Education and Sports, Associate Professor.  The specialised one-time academic council was chaired by Nataliia Moskalenko, Doctor of Sciences in Physical Education and Sports, Professor.
 
As part of the dissertation research, a scientifically justified structure for a programme of independent physical culture and health-enhancing activities was developed for women whose professional activities are primarily associated with intellectual work. Particular attention was devoted to the methodological and organisational aspects of implementing the proposed programme, as well as to assessing its effectiveness in improving participants’ psychophysical condition.
Following a professional discussion, members of the specialised academic council highly evaluated the scientific novelty, practical significance, and relevance of the research. As a result of the open vote, the decision to award Liudmyla Dziuba the degree of Doctor of Philosophy was approved unanimously.
 
The Ukrainian State University of Science and Technologies extends its sincere congratulations to Liudmyla Dziuba on this significant academic achievement and wishes her continued professional growth, successful implementation of future research projects, and further accomplishments in science.
 
The successful defence of Liudmyla Dziuba’s dissertation demonstrates  high quality training of young researchers at USUST, as well as the university’s significant contribution to the advancement of contemporary science, education, and the field of physical culture and sports in Ukraine.
