Success to the fullest’: the story of Farzona Solieva

Farzona Solieva,  who is originally from Uzbekistan and now a citizen of Ukraine, is a first-year student of the Faculty of Economics at the SEI ‘Prydniprovska State Academy of Civil Engineering and Architecture’ of USUST.

Recently, Farzona graduated from the university scientific Lyceum of Digital Technologies and Design, where she had already shown herself as an active, goal-oriented, and creative personality.

 

‘She has the energy and drive of ten people’, recalls Bejan Gvadjaia, Farzona’s former class teacher at the lyceum. ‘Her leadership qualities were evident from the very beginning – she was elected president of the lyceum students’.

Her determination to grow, willingness to take initiative, and confidence in her abilities helped Farzona quickly adapt to student life. She actively participates in faculty events, combining her studies with creative and volunteering activities.

 

This trust became a powerful impulse for her inner transformation. Farzona took her studies seriously and  finished her 11th grade with excellent results. She admits: ‘I don’t know what motivated me more – a sense of responsibility towards my lyceum friends or responsibility for my own life’. In Uzbek Farzona means ‘wise, intelligent, educated’, and every day she takes new steps to live up to that meaning.

Having achieved a high academic score, Farzona could have chosen any faculty. Her heart leaned toward architecture and design, as the masterpieces of Bukhara, Samarkand, and Khiva have always inspired her to create.

However, as Farzona says, to make dreams come true and gain personal freedom, one needs knowledge of economics and finance. That is why these fields became her priority while architecture  is patiently waiting  for its time.

 

Farzona is a true team player. During the  first USUST hackaton  held at USUST, her team explored the history of an ordinary chair, made comparisons with the royal throne, and proposed their own concept  of a multifunctional transforming chair. Their creativity and teamwork earned them an honorable fourth place. The team proudly presented their award to their alma mater – the Lyceum of Digital Technologies and Design  as their very first trophy.

‘We hope that all 25 of our current lyceum students, as well as next year’s graduates, will choose to continue their education at our university’, said Halyna Yevsieieva, director of the Lyceum and Vice-Rector for Academic, Student and Humanitarian Affairs at USUST. ‘Our lyceum is young, but it relies on the immense scientific potential of the largest university in the region’.

 

Today, Farzona is confidently moving toward her goal. She is a group leader of the first-year students of the faculty of Economics at the SEI ‘PSACEA’. Every journey begins with defining the path from point A to point B. And while parents, teachers, and lecturers can help along the way, the final choice always belongs to the individual.

 

Her story proves that great achievements become possible if there is a dream, a plan, and a determination to give your best.
