Student Initiation Ceremony at USUST 2024

On September 1, 2024, the Ukrainian State University of Science and Technologies officially welcomed its new first-year students, who have now become part of a large academic family! This event is special not only for the freshmen but also for the entire university, as every August, our walls are filled with new talents, energy, and dreams.

The event began brightly and festively: modern music filled the hall of the DIIT Student Palace, and near the auditorium, a photo zone was set up with a red carpet, promotional posters, and banners of the university’s educational and scientific institutes. Members of the student council, dressed in traditional embroidered shirts, invited all the new students to take photos with symbolic student ID cards and grade books to remember this new chapter in their lives.

The host greeted the freshmen, emphasizing that they are the new generation boldly pursuing their success despite all the challenges in Ukraine. A significant moment of the ceremony was the presentation of the national flag, which was ceremoniously placed on stage by cadets from the Department of Military Training.

At the end of the ceremony, the University’s Rector, Doctor of Technical Sciences Kostiantyn Sukhyi, congratulated the students on the beginning of their educational journey and highlighted the importance of the knowledge they will gain at USUST.

The ceremony concluded with a vibrant flash mob by the students and a traditional water initiation from our unique mascot — USUSTIKUS. The new students are now officially part of the big family of the Ukrainian State University of Science and Technologies.
