Sports Achievements of USUST Students on the International Stage

Students of the Ukrainian State University of Science and Technologies continue to demonstrate high results in international sports competitions. Special attention is drawn to the performances of Alyona Chass and Illia Kunin, who have distinguished themselves with their skill and perseverance.

Alyona Chass, a student of group ME03-22 from the SEI IIBT, continues to conquer new heights in the triple jump. In the spring, she met the qualification standard to participate in the World Junior Championships by achieving a result of 12.90 m. Over the season, Alyona improved her personal record to 13.45 m.

As part of the Ukrainian national team, she competed in the World U20 Athletics Championships, which took place from August 27-31, 2024, in Lima, Peru. On the second day of the championships, Alyona jumped 12.81 m, but this result fell short by 2 cm of qualifying for the final. For comparison, the final started at 12.82 m, and the champion was an athlete from Uzbekistan with a mark of 13.75 m. Despite this, we sincerely wish Alyona a quick recovery and new victories in future competitions.

Illia Kunin, a student of group KN023M from the SEI IIBT, successfully began the new season with cross-country races in New Orleans (USA), where he participated in the university championships on August 30, 2024. Illia demonstrated an excellent result and took second place, showing strong character and sportsmanship. We congratulate Illia on this achievement and wish him continued success on the sports field!

Once again, USUST athletes confirm the high level of preparation and indomitable spirit, bringing glory to our university and Ukraine on the international stage!
