Science, emotions, and a real introduction to future careers at USUST Open Day

On April 4, 2026, the SEI ‘Ukrainian State University of Chemical Technology’ hosted a vibrant and eventful Open Day of the Ukrainian State University of Science and Technologies.

On this day, the university was transformed into an open space of opportunities filled with live communication, interactivity, and genuine immersion in the world of future professions. From the very first moments, guests were welcomed by a spring atmosphere, themed photo zones, and dozens of activity areas where everyone could discover something of personal interest.

Interactive spaces by academic departments and educational and scientific institutes were set up in the main hall. Visitors had the opportunity not only to receive information, but also to  ‘touch’ their future specialty: test equipment, observe real installations, look through microscopes, and explore models, prototypes, and technical developments. Guests enthusiastically engaged with robotics, train models, sports equipment, and even elements of military gear.
All educational and scientific institutes of USUST presented their exhibitions:

• SEI ‘Dnipro Institute of Infrastructure and Transport’
• SEI ‘Ukrainian State University of Chemical Technology’
• SEI ‘Prydniprovska State Academy of Civil Engineering and Architecture’
• SEI ‘Dnipro Metallurgical Institute”
• SEI ‘Prydniprovska State Academy of Physical Culture and Sports’
• SEI ‘Aerospace Institute’
• Military Faculty

Each location functioned as a space for a live dialogue: academic staff, students, and department representatives readily answered questions, shared their experiences, and helped prospective applicants better understand the specifics of studying at the university.

Particular attention was drawn to the representatives of student self-government, who talked about university life ‘from the inside’  including studies, opportunities for personal development, leisure activities, and the overall student experience. Nearby, the Admissions Committee was also available, offering up-to-date information and guidance on admission requirements.

Later, participants gathered near the stage. Professor Olha Ryzhova, Vice-Rector for Reasearch and Academic Affairs, Advertising and Information Activities, and Communications at USUST, welcomed the audience and announced a prize draw with pleasant gifts to take place at the end of the event. Associate Professor Serhii Baidak, executive secretary of the USUST Admissions Committee, gave a detailed presentation on the key features of the 2026 admissions campaign: what applicants should pay attention to, how to choose NMT subjects, how the competitive score is calculated, and how to set priorities correctly when submitting applications. His practical advice and clear explanations generated lively interest among prospective students and their parents.

The true culmination of the event was a spectacular chemical show– bright, dynamic, and captivating. The boldest spectators even had the opportunity to participate in the experiments themselves, which added even more excitement and unforgettable impressions.

The festive mood continued with a performance by the USUST dance group ‘Just Dance’, whose energetic routine in hats brought rhythm, celebration, and great emotions to the audience.

The final highlight of the day was a raffle of souvenirs and sweet gifts among registered participants, which was one more pleasant detail of this productive day.

The Open Day once again demonstarted that USUST is a place where tradition, modern technologies, and a vibrant student environment come together. What matters most is that it is a place where everyone can find their own path.
We invite you to study at USUST!
