Presentation of the Scholarship Program Competition “Zavtra.UA”

On November 20, 2024, the Ukrainian State University of Science and Technologies hosted a team from the Victor Pinchuk Foundation, which presented the 19th annual competition for the “Zavtra.UA” Scholarship Program—a national initiative aimed at supporting talented youth and fostering the development of a new generation of intellectual and business leaders in Ukraine. Foundation selects the most talented Ukrainian students and provides them with financial, expert, and informational support.

The contest coordinator, Olha Babych, and the coordinator of the scholarship community, Tetiana Perepelytsia, were introduced to the student audience by the university’s rector, Kostiantyn Sukhyi. In his address, the rector emphasized that during these turbulent times, it is the active young generation that will lay the foundation for a future, strong, and highly educated Ukraine.

The packed conference hall of the USUST Academic Council, along with an even larger group of students attending online, demonstrated the active engagement and high interest in scientific creativity, civic activities, and volunteerism—key aspects of the competition. The students asked a range of thoughtful and pertinent questions to the contest organizers.

During the presentation of the Scholarship Program Competition “Zavtra.UA”, the coordinators outlined the main eligibility criteria for participants. In particular, the competition invites students from Ukrainian HEIs, universities, academies, and institutes of any form of ownership—who are in their 3rd to 6th years of full-time study (bachelor’s and master’s programs), are citizens of Ukraine, and are up to 35 years old.

Key Requirements for Applicants:

• Originality of ideas within their field of research, as demonstrated in their contest work;
• Active involvement and experience in implementing civic, social, or volunteer projects and initiatives, confirmed by a recommendation letter;
• Motivation for personal and professional growth;
• Leadership potential, as well as communication and creative abilities.

The winners — future “Zavtra.UA” scholarship holders—will receive a monthly scholarship of 3,000 UAH (after taxes and fees) from the Victor Pinchuk Foundation for one year. They will also have opportunities for financial and expert support for their projects, as well as access to various events organized by the Victor Pinchuk Foundation and its partner organizations. Moreover, students become part of a community of talented youth from all over Ukraine, which already includes over 2,600 members.

At the conclusion of the event, a cooperation agreement was ceremoniously signed between the University and the Foundation, marking the beginning of a long-term partnership.
