Participation of USUST Faculty in a Study Visit to the University of A Coruña

From November 5 to 7, 2024, academic personnel from Ukrainian State University of Science and Technologies participated in a study visit organized by the University of A Coruña (Spain) within the framework of the 3E-Partnership project – “The European Energy Efficiency towards Mutually Reinforcing Partnership with Georgia, Azerbaijan and Ukraine”.

The USUST delegation included:

  • Oleksandr Zhadanos, Cand. of Tech. Sc., Associate Professor at the Department of Electrometallurgy named after Acad. M.I. Hasyk.
  • Nataliia Chernova, Cand. of Econ. Sc., Associate Professor at the Department of Economics and Management, Head of the International Relations Office.
  • Dmytro Bosyi, D.Sc. in Tech., Head of the Department of Intelligent Power Supply Systems.
  • Iryna Potapchuk, Cand. of Tech. Sc., Associate Professor at the Department of Intelligent Power Supply Systems.
  • Andrii Usenko, Cand. of Tech. Sc., Head of the Department of Energy Systems and Energy Management.

The goal of the study visit was to familiarize participants with modern teaching methods, curriculum development, research projects, and practical aspects of energy efficiency and sustainable development.

The visit program included:

  • A tour of the NAVANTIA shipyard, one of Europe’s leading enterprises implementing advanced technologies in shipbuilding.
  • A presentation of the Master’s program in Energy Efficiency and Sustainable Development by university professors.
  • A lecture on renewable marine energy technologies, a crucial area in achieving energy independence.
  • Visits to CITENI, a research and innovation center in the energy sector, and the Galician Institute of Technology (ITG).

Participation in the study visit provided USUST representatives with a unique opportunity to gain European experience in implementing energy-efficient technologies, contributing to the improvement of educational programs and research at the university. The faculty members acquired valuable knowledge that will foster further scientific research and international collaboration in sustainable development and energy technologies.

USUST continues to actively expand international cooperation and integrate the best European practices into its educational process and scientific research.
