New Opportunities for Dual Education and Scientific Research
Ukrainian State University of Science and Technologies and Dnipro Lyceum №120 join forces to advance education and science. On 5th November 2024, a Memorandum of Cooperation was signed between Dnipro Lyceum №120 of the Dnipro City Council and the Ukrainian State University of Science and Technologies. The document was signed by the Lyceum Director, Liubov Rudnyk, and the Acting Rector of the University, Professor Kostiantyn Sukhyi, in the presence of the Acting Director of the SEI USUCT, Professor Olha Sverdlikivska, and the Head of the Department of Physical Culture, Sports, and Health, Lina Sokolova. The Memorandum was signed at the initiative of the Deputy Director for Educational Work, Yuliia Shvets, a 2003 graduate of USUCT.
The Memorandum aims to create conditions for developing educational cooperation, enhancing qualifications, internships, and implementing dual education. It also seeks to support joint scientific research and engage talented young people in scientific activities. Ukrainians are talented at any age, and even school students can offer brilliant ideas and unconventional approaches to addressing modern challenges. This collaborative work will help uncover and cultivate these ideas, creating new opportunities for Ukraine’s future peaceful development.
The objectives are planned to be realized through various forms of cooperation:
- using the Lyceum as a base for university student internships, dual education, and practical training;
- organizing joint educational projects, training sessions, workshops, as well as participating in scientific conferences and research;
- exchanging information, experience, and modern methodologies between the university’s and the Lyceum’s faculty and researchers;
- improving teacher qualifications and offering Lyceum faculty internships at the university.
The collaboration is mutually beneficial: the Lyceum gains access to new scientific and educational approaches, allowing the integration of modern technologies into the learning process. At the same time, the university has the opportunity to work with young people, identify talented students, and support them in their scientific pursuits, integrating fresh ideas and innovative solutions.
As noted by Kostiantyn Sukhyi, this initiative may eventually be scaled up and serve as a model for collaboration among other educational institutions in Ukraine, creating a unified educational space for talent development. The Memorandum opens perspectives for building an effective system for workforce training and supporting young researchers, fostering innovation and enhancing the competitiveness of Ukrainian science.
