Modern Equipment for USUST from the World Bank

Based on  Order of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine № 113 “On organizing work on the preparation of a joint investment project with the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development «Improving Higher Education in Ukraine for Results»”, dated January 27, 2021  in 2023 a Cooperation and Partnership Agreement was concluded between the Ministry and the Ukrainian State University of Science and Technology. Each university that has undergone reorganization through the merger of one institution with another receives an investment in scientific and educational equipment worth 1.5 million US dollars. These funds are allocated within the framework of an international initiative supported by the World Bank.

Within the cooperation agreement, the purchase of modern high-tech scientific and educational equipment was planned to improve the quality of practical training for students and conduct high-level scientific research.

At the end of December, the university received the first batch of equipment for SEI USUCT, including:

  • Shimadzu IRSpirit-T Fourier Transform Infrared Spectrometer (Japan) — 1.232 million UAH;
  • Shimadzu LC-2060 High-Performance Liquid Chromatography System (Japan) with spectrophotometric and fluorescence detectors — 2.142 million UAH;
  • Versastat-3A-500 Potentiostat/Galvanostat with impedance measurement module and analytical cell (AMETEK Scientific Instruments, USA) — 0.97 million UAH;
  • Nabertherm HT 16/18/P570 Chamber Furnace (Germany) — 1.989 million UAH.

The university expresses gratitude to the World Bank operations management team at the Ministry of Education and Science for their effective cooperation and assistance in implementing this important project.
