Meeting of the Academic Council of USUST: Awards and Scientific Achievements

On November 5, 2025, the Ukrainian State University of Science and Technologies held a regular meeting of its Academic Council. The session began with awarding the university staff for their significant achievements in scientific and educational activities.
 
The honour of presenting the awards in the presence of colleagues and members of the Academic Council had the Chairman of the Academic Council and Rector of USUST, Professor Kostiantyn Sukhyi.
The university community was pleased to know about high recognition from the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine: the university received a Certificate of Appreciation from the Ministry for its leadership in conducting research and development commissioned by Ukrainian enterprises and organizations during 2019–2023. This distinction was ceremoniously  presented to the Vice-rector for Research, Professor Yurii Proidak.
 
The departmental award of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine – the badge of honour ‘Excellence in education’ was presented to Professor Serhii Bilodidenko, head of the department of Industrial Engineering, for his significant contribution to the development of education and science.
Commendations of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine for professionalism and significant contribution to their scientific activity were awarded to:
  • Professor Kostiantyn Varlan, deputy director of the SEI ‘Aerospace Institute’;
  •  Associate Professor Denys Volchok, head of the Department of Machinery Operation and Maintenance;
  • Associate Professor Anna Hura, Department of Processes, Apparatus and General Chemical Technology;
  • Associate Professor Antonina Muntian, head of the Department of Foreign Languages;
  • Professor Svitlana Shekhorkina, Department of Reinforced Concrete and Masonry Structures;
  • Professor Oleksandr Velichenko, head of the Department of Physical Chemistry;
  • Professor Oleksandr Holichenko, Department of Pharmacy, Chemistry and Technologies;
  • Professor Margarita Skyba, Department of Inorganic Substance Technology and Ecology;
  • Professor Oleh Farat, Department of Pharmacy, Chemistry and Technologies.
Letters of Appreciation from the Minister of Education and Science of Ukraine Oksen Lisovyi were given to Associate Professor Illia Iliev and assistant Andrii Chervonoshchan of the Department of Machinery Operation and Maintenance for the organization and conduct of entrance examinations based on external independent evaluation.
The Academic Council also congratulated the university’s academic and teaching staff on the conferment of academic degrees. The title of Professor was awarded to Veronika Chala, Doctor of Economics, Professor of the Department of Economic Theory and International Economic Relations. The degree of Doctor of Sciences was conferred upon Mykola Malich, Associate Professor of the Department of Industrial Engineering.
 

Sixteen PhD graduates of USUST were awarded Doctor of Philosophy diplomas:
Valeriia Mizin, Anzhelika Shvets, Neli Khmelevska, Dmytro Spivak, Maksym Bashmakov, Aliona Sydorchuk, Robert Chyhir, Kateryna Larionova, Yelyzaveta Lomynoha, Valeriia Pavlova, Yuliia Husak, Olha Halienkova, Daryna Popytailenko, Anastasiia Borysenko, Yevhen Tsybulia, and Ivan Pikula.

Mariia Vakulych, doctoral student of the SEI ‘PSACEA’, was awarded a certificate of appreciation from the NGO ‘International Foundation of Scientists and Educators’ for her significant contribution to the development of  young generation and  promotion of educational values in Ukrainian society.

The members of the Academic Council congratulated their colleagues with applause – all those who daily contribute to the development of the University and the advancement of Ukrainian science.

After the ceremonial part, the Academic Council proceeded to discuss working issues aimed at the further development of USUST and support of its researchers.
